I often tell new hires when preparing them for realities of working in I.T., “You need to have thick skin and a high degree of professionalism. When the phone rings, the person on the other side of the phone is likely frustrated because something isn’t working, or they need something done yesterday. Nobody ever contacts us to just say, ‘I wanted to let you guys know that you are doing a good job’.”

Well, yesterday afternoon I was proven wrong with that email message from Julie M.

Julie sought us out about ten months ago. “I would like to find out more about what you offer and if your firm would be a better fit than our current vendor.“, her initial email stated. What we found on our evaluation of their systems was an over-engineered semi-cloud solution, using older and less efficient hosting technology that came with a hefty price tag. Usually, the conversation we have with new customers centers around the shortfalls in their current way of doing things and explanations about why they need to spend more money. With Julie’s company, we were able to not only offer a better solution, but also significantly reduce the bottom line of both the monthly recurring costs and the future capitol expenses. That always feels good!

After an initial speedbump and subsequent discovery of a malfunctioning software component proprietary to their pre-existing laptops, which caused performance slowdowns, our solution was deemed to be more encompassing, simpler, faster and cheaper. And getting a note of appreciation of the fruit of our labor, really made our day!

Thank you Julie!
